There are two different types of muscle fibres in your muscles. Fast twitch and slow twitch. All muscles in your body are comprised of a mixture of these two types, but the percentage of each fibre varies from muscle to muscle, and between people. The proportion of different muscle fibre types affects what kinds of physical work a muscle or person is good at.
